New DLC for the Riftbreaker game

The Riftbreaker - Into The Dark is a premium action title for PC coming from developer EXOR Studios, and it is the second DLC released for the base The Riftbreaker game. Players can expect a brand new story and will have them dig their way through caverns to deal with a threat to the world.

Building upon The Riftbreaker, a new drilling mechanic will be introduced in The Riftbreaker - Into The Dark, as well as a whole new underground biome to explore. What's more, the story seamlessly integrates with the base game's narrative and campaign.

A new dig

The Riftbreaker draws inspiration from various genres for its gameplay mechanics, It's a cross between a base builder, tower defender, and RPG combater in one. The experience was unique, fun, and engaging. However, it felt pretty short and had little content. This was addressed with the Metal Armor game expansion, and now, you have another one with The Riftbreaker - Into The Dark.

This DLC will take place in a new underground biome in Galatea 37 and will focus on the journey of Ashley and Mr. Riggs. A series of anomalous neutrino bursts and unusual seismic activity has prompted them to dive into a cavern to investigate. Collect samples to analyze, invent new technologies, and save the world from a threat hidden deep within.

You will also need to alter and adapt how you build your base given the location's difficult terrain and issues with power generation to establish a place of operations. Unfortunately, despite the aforementioned integration with the main campaign, there are some issues that prevent some users from loading them through the main mode. Hopefully, this can be fixed as soon as possible in an update.

Another great addition

If you're a fan of the base game and enjoyed what the Metal Armor DLC brought to the experience, then you'll like what The Riftbreaker - Into The Dark has to offer. It brings much of the same fun and engaging gameplay but on a new biome, and more weapons and tech to discover and invent. This is a solid addition to the collection and worth checking out.
